Dealing With Fatigue and HeadachesFor those who suffer from frequent headaches, trying to figure out what causes them and how to stop them or prevent them can be a never ending quest. Generally speaking, headaches are categorized two ways: primary and secondary types of headaches. Primary headaches include migraines and cluster headaches. Secondary headaches are those that are caused by something else. For example, a sinus headache is caused by the pressure in the sinuses from the extra mucus. Diagnosing what type of headache you have and then figuring out how to stop them can be difficult. Sometimes, a cause of a headache can be simple fatigue. Fatigue and headaches often go hand in hand since if you are overtired, you may develop a headache, which can then cause you to have trouble sleeping. Fatigue and headaches can quickly turn into a vicious cycle. Fatigue and Headaches: A Vicious CycleHeadaches caused by fatigue are secondary headaches. This is simply because there is an underlying cause for the headache; in this case, the fatigue is contributing to the development of the headache. As with any secondary headache, you need to treat the underlying cause to rid yourself of the possibility of a headache. With fatigue and headaches ganging up on you, it can be hard to break the cycle and heal yourself. Since the underlying cause is fatigue that is what you will have to focus on to get rid of the headache. Luckily, fatigue and headaches are probably one of the easier headache problems to solve. Taking over the counter sleep medication can help you sleep better, which hopefully will relieve your headache. The night you try taking sleeping medication, try taking an over-the-counter pain medication as well. If you can't solve the fatigue and headaches problem yourself, visit your doctor as soon as possible. There are prescription medications that can help you sleep better, which can help you break out of the fatigue and headaches cycle. Hopefully you won't have to resort to a doctor's visit, but if the problem persists, your life can quickly become a waking nightmare if you don't receive help. Fatigue and headaches are a nasty duo. With the fatigue causing the headaches and the headaches causing restless or sleepless nights, a cycle can quickly develop. Once you become aware of the problem, trying to fix it as quickly as possible should aid you in sleeping better every night, which in turn should help you deal with your headaches better.
