Currently there is no complete cure to administer to a person who experiences back pain; finding a back pain relief remedy is probably important to you and whilst there isn’t a cure as yet, some treatments can help sufferers. Pain relief is possible with the medications available but that is all they do and the reason for the pain continues. Medication should be used sparingly and under the strict supervision of a medical professional.
The back is under a constant strain throughout our lives and whilst it is very strong, it can be injured without to much difficulty; large numbers of people have caused permanent damage to their backs just by sitting poorly for long periods. However, back pain is usually caused by a lifting accident or from lifting incorrectly and it is normally the lower back that suffers. Many people are now turning to other methods of gaining back pain relief which do not include the use of drugs.
Stretching the back is often the simplest method of relief, stretching your back gently can relax your back muscles preventing them from becoming tense. On the other hand reflexology is an alternative medical practice where pressure is applied to the feet to relieve pain in different parts of the body; it works very well in relieving back pain. Reflexology can also help to improve the body’s blood circulation and relax muscles.
Acupuncture is used frequently by people suffering spinal agony by giving them back pain relief just as it has for thousands of years, although, only recently in the West. Traditional Chinese medicine is based on the theory that all people have this energy which flows through them called ‘chi’ or ‘qi’. Although the chi can become blocked, it can be released by using thin needles inserted into various points on the body. Like reflexology, acupuncture seems to be used by people who suffer with chronic conditions like back pain which requires relief.
Another ancient oriental discipline, Tai Chi is similar to many types of Yoga but the movements are much slower and deliberate. Tai Chi is however very gentle and easily performed by young and older people. It focuses on breathing exercises with additional stretching movements. A good preventative form of back pain relief is to actually exercise more regularly; it would be a shame to forget the benefits that exercise can provide generally.
