Dealing With Migraine

Migraine is the name given to the headache that generally occurs on the side of the head and are very severe. They should not be confused with normal headaches and are a symptom of a serious underlying problem. Such headaches have a tendency to persist and reappear every now and then even after proper medication and can be very frustrating for the person suffering from them. It can be considered to be a hereditary problem that runs through generations. If can last for days at a stretch. It can affect person’s social activities and can prolong for two to three days. They generally affect one particular side of the head but can be spread over the entire head also. Patients are also able to sense these headaches sometimes even before they occur.

Migraines are generally accompanies by nausea and dizziness and can even cause vomiting if the headaches are sever. People might have blared vision and can have foggy eyesight when they get a migraine attack or a migraine headache. The pain with migraine is so severe that the sensation of pain can last long after the migraine attack is over. These pains can be treated with painkiller like aspirin and other tranquilizers but wDealing with Migrainee should consult a doctor to diagnose the cause of the migraine and treat it properly because the painkillers can cause only temporary relief.

Migraine used to affect only the males in the earlier time but things are changing and more and more females are becoming the victim of the problem. The main cause of this can be the changing lifestyles and more and more hectic lifestyles. Its cause can be also contributed to the restriction in supply of oxygen in our blood resulting in less supply of oxygen to the brain. It can also be caused by dehydration so a well-hydrated body is assured to be migraine free. Allergies to some types of foods can also cause migraine and exposure to pollutants and pollen is also known to trigger the pain. Proper care should be taken of a person suffering from migraine because such people also tend to suffer from seizures and attacks.
